How we make money?

As you might be able to tell, we don't serve ads on our website. We do this as we don't like ads either. We still need to raise some money in order to pay for servers, and even though it may be cheap, time and stress to run this comes at much greater cost. We make money through three channels:

The first way we make money is through Affiliate links. That means if you click through some of these links, and make a purchase at the linked store, Price Possum may receive a small percentage of sale value as commission.

All posts on our website hold some form of tag. Whether that is a "Deal", the category it is related to, or an identifiable tag

Forum posting guidelines

Welcome to the Community, and thanks for joining us. We’re very savvy when it comes to shopping, and are always happy to meet people who feel the same way. We want everyone to get the most out of the platform, so we ask that you please read and follow these guidelines. And enjoy your visit here! We have some relatively simple rules here, so please take the time to read the below

Make Yourself Heard

Spend some time browsing the platform, familiarise yourself with the tag system, and do a few searches for keywords related to your topic: it could be someone has already started a discussion about it. If you don’t search, you won’t find ? When you’re sure you’re ready to start a discussion, please keep the following points in mind:

Give it a good title! You’ll get the best results if your title makes it clear what you want to talk about.
Don’t post repeatedly about the same topic, as doing so will tend to have the opposite effect.
If not using a tag set aside for multilingual use, post in English only. We can’t help if we can’t read you!
Remember, you don’t need to sign your posts. We’ve got your profile to let us know who you are.
Please make the effort to help us keep things organised.

Make Your Reply Count

You’re taking the time to participate in a discussion, in the hope that others will read your ideas and take them into consideration. So why not make the effort to make your reply worth reading?

Don’t reply to a title. Take some time to read the original post, and at least scan the rest of the conversation first.
Avoid making one-word posts just to agree with someone; you can use the “upvote” link for that
Avoid making multiple posts in a row when one would suffice. This is a forum, not a social network.
If your reply is likely to divert the course of the discussion, consider starting your own discussion instead.
If you just want to post a bit of nonsense as a test, please do it in the Test Posting tag instead.
Make sure your replies provide constructive feedback and support to allow for an inclusive community.
No one’s going to complain about the occasional joke or smart remark. We like to keep the mood light – but, to keep things productive, as well, we ask that you try to avoid derailing a discussion altogether.

All the above are grounds for moderator action. If you have an issue with another member, we ask that you please don’t confront them yourself. Please just use the Report command on the post in question, then leave it up to the admin to deal with the situation.

Our moderators may edit or delete any content that is offensive or disruptive to the flow of communication. Serious or repeated offences will lead to suspension of the offending user’s account. So, you know, be polite, and professional. Courtesy costs you nothing to give and receive, so let’s all be mindful of that please.

1. Terms

Registration and Profiles

You can browse and view the Platform as an unregistered user of the Platform. You must register on the Platform and create an account (Account) to access some features on the Platform such as to post a deal or participate in the discussion.
You may only have 1 Account as a User on the Platform. If you are a Business and would like to create a sponsored post with more than one business, you must apply for a separate Account for each business. We may provide you with multiple logins on request.
You must provide basic information when registering for an Account including email address and you may choose a username and password. The username you choose must not
1. be offensive or in other ways insulting or
2. contain characteristics which belong to a third party, including names of famous persons, or personal names to which you do not own the rights.
If you are a Business and you request to create a Sponsored Post, we will review your request for a Sponsored Post before approving the request. We may request additional information, including details of your suppliers, your warranty policies, your order delivery offerings, your ABN and TFN. If you do not provide us with information we reasonably request, we may refuse to create an Sponsored Post for you. If you provide us with any information which indicates you are not a fit and proper person or entity to be provided with an Sponsored Post, we may refuse to provide you with an Sponsored Post, in our sole discretion.
You must provide accurate, current and complete information during the registration process and you must update such information to keep it accurate, current and complete.
You are responsible for keeping your Account details and your username and password confidential and you will be liable for all activity on your Account, including posts and comments made using your Account details, whether or not you authorised such activities or actions.
You will immediately notify us of any unauthorised use of your Account.
At our sole discretion, we may refuse to allow any person to register or create an Account.

2. Prohibited conduct

anything that would constitute a breach of an individual’s privacy (including uploading private or personal information without an individual's consent) or any other legal rights;
using our Platform to defame, harass, threaten, menace or offend any person;
interfering with any user using our Platform;
